Heart's Desire

Naraku had seen into Inuyasha's heart, and knew of wish.

His friends had helped him free himself from the treacherous trap the demon had set. And he was grateful, really. But he was also angry. Sitting in the trees, by himself, he couldn't help but think.

"You want a simple life, don't you?" Naraku hissed, "Here it is. You and Kikyou...it will be like things never went wrong. Wouldn't that be nice, Inuyasha?"

The Hanyou in question growled at the memory and rubbed his eyes. He was tired. Of the constant fighting, the rejection, the fear and hatred.

Even now...he couldn't tell if he could have been able to resist the temptation to accept Naraku's Deal. A part of him, he was sure, wouldn't want to. Even now he could see the face of their child, so much like her mother's but with his hair and features.

Inuyasha sighed.
